Heinrich Oidtmann II
Heinrich Oidtmann II (born November 19, 1861 in Linnich ; † March 23, 1912 there ) was a doctor , author and entrepreneur . He headed the Oidtmann glass painting company founded by his father Heinrich Oidtmann , which is still a family business today.
Life
Like his father, Heinrich Oidtmann studied medicine in Bonn. He became a member of the Corps Teutonia Bonn and the Corps Rhenania Bonn . After completing his studies, he worked as a doctor in Aachen . Even before his father's death (1890) he joined the company as managing director. His special achievement lies in the writing of standard works and essays on glass painting .
Since Heinrich Oidtmann died early, he was unable to complete many of his book projects.
The company was continued by his son Heinrich Oidtmann III .
Heinrich Oidtmann was a great-grandson of Johann Joseph Gottfried Opfergelt (1770–1842).
