The Dr. H. Oidtmann GmbH ['oːtman] is a Linnich- based workshop for glass painting . It is the oldest glass painting company still operating in Germany. It was founded in 1857 by Heinrich Oidtmann .
history
The company, which was founded by Heinrich Oidtmann in 1857, is now the fifth generation to produce artistic glazing. The maintenance and restoration is also done in the family business.
Linnich as a location for stained glass
The German Glass Painting Museum has been located in Linnich since 1997 .
Works (selection)
- 1874–1876: Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Johannis in Leopoldshall (today part of Staßfurt ): the five windows in the chancel are decorated with stained glass portraits of the Savior and the four evangelists.
- 1888/91: The stained glass in the Basílica de San Sebastián in Manila , Philippines .
- 1898/99: cycle of 35 colored glass windows in the cath. Parish Church of St. John the Baptist in Steinfeld (Oldenburg) .
- 1899: The choir windows in the Catholic parish church of St. Matthäus von Bad Sobernheim stand out from the rest of the church due to their special image design and color scheme. A restoration by the company took place from April to July 2015.
- 1906: The nine windows in the Catholic parish church of St. Nikolaus in Kottenheim depict secrets of the joyful and glorious rosary. The rosette window is from 1910.
- 1912: Two colorful choir windows in the Kath. Parish church of St. Nikolaus in Böseckendorf / Eichsfeld (Virgo Immaculata and St. Joseph)
- 1918: Three colorful choir windows for St. Willibrord in Euchen in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus ( completely destroyed in World War II).
- 1920: Window of the memorial chapel in Kottenheim.
- 1967: Stained glass window of the St. Bernward Church in Gifhorn based on a design by Claus Kilian .
- 1969: Stained glass window of the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption in Königslutter based on a design by Claus Kilian .
- 1982: Windows in Villingen Minster based on a design by Elmar Hillebrand in collaboration with Clemens Hillebrand .
- 2007–2011: Aachen Cathedral, renovation of the mosaic together with the Derix company.
