Heinrich Ondereyck

Heinrich Ludwig Ondereyck (born January 12, 1799 in Krefeld , † April 9, 1876 in Bonn ) was a German politician . He was the mayor of his hometown Krefeld.

Life

After finishing school, Ondereyck devoted himself to forest matters and then transferred to the local government. In 1824 he became city secretary of Kleve . He was later elected mayor there and given the post of royal county police inspector. Ondereyck was Lord Mayor of Krefeld from 1848 to 1873.

In 1854 the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV granted the Lord Mayor Ondereyck the right to wear a chain of office . The mayor's chain of office was created in the same year on the basis of a design by Ondereyck. At that time, Krefeld received its city ​​arms . His successor as Lord Mayor of Krefeld was Christian Roos in January 1873 . On the Ostwall in Krefeld, Ondereyck owned a house on the avenue.

On November 25, 1854, Ondereyck was appointed a lifelong member of the Prussian manor house . There he belonged to the liberal party.
