Heinrich Pollak (writer)

Heinrich Pollak (born April 2, 1834 in Mattersburg , Austrian Empire ; died October 19, 1908 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist, writer and entrepreneur.

Life

Pollak attended the Schottengymnasium in Vienna and in 1859 became a journalist for the newspaper "Österreichischer Lloyd", for which he reported from the Italian War of Independence as a war correspondent . He also reported from the German War in 1866 . In 1867 he became editor and co-owner of the Neue Wiener Tagblatt and was a member of the board of directors of the Steyrermühl publishing house between 1872 and 1894 .
