Heinrich Reimer (Karateka)

Heinrich Reimer (born August 2, 1945 in Hamburg ) is national trainer for Kumite in the AKS karate style .

In 1968 Reimer decided to look for a sporting challenge and found it in Wadō-Ryū Karate. At the age of 33 he became the team captain of the first German national karate team in the German Karate Association . In 1991 he developed his own self-defense system, Zanshin-Jitsu. In 1997 he was awarded the 6th Dan Wado-Ryu in the German Karate Association (DKV) .

Through his student Andreas Modl , Reimer got in touch with the American Karate System, which he was initially skeptical about. Today Reimer wears the 8th Dan in this style and is national trainer for Kumite and federal commissioner for traditional weapons in this style.
