Heinrich Schäfer (pimp)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich Schäfer (born May 16, 1937 , † November 15, 1997 in Cologne ) was a pimp from Cologne. Because of his big nose he was called "Shepherd's Nas".

In the early 1960s, Heinrich Schäfer became known for his activities in Cologne night gastronomy and in the red light district . Here he rivaled Anton Dumm , called "Dummse Tünn" which later bodyguard of Romy Schneider was. On September 20, 1975 both got into an argument, with Schäfer knocking down his rival. In November 1984, after three years of investigation, Schäfer was sentenced to eight years ' imprisonment for dangerous bodily harm , rape , pimping and deprivation of liberty .

In 1996, unknown perpetrators stole the valuable lecture cross from the cathedral treasury , which is traditionally carried forward when the metropolitans (archbishops) enter the cathedral . At the request of the provost at the time, Bernard Henrichs , Heinrich Schäfer managed to get the cross back because of his contacts in the demi-world . He waived the promised finder's reward of 3,000 DM . The provost then compensated him by including him in his intercessions . The Millowitsch Theater in Cologne took up the story of Heinrich Schäfer's recovery of the cross and created the play The King of Friesenplatz .

Schäfer also made headlines by purchasing a former torpedo fishing boat from World War II , the MS Colorado , which he converted into a luxury yacht . After his death in 2004, the ship was forcibly auctioned off to a former inland boatman in order to cover the accrued berthing costs in Cologne's Rheinauhafen .

Heinrich Schäfer died of heart failure in Cologne in 1997 at the age of 60 .
