Heinrich Schupplenberg (before 1351 – after 1382) was a German patrician and mayor of Greifswald .

Life

Heinrich Schupplenberg came from a rich patrician family in Greifswald. The family name is probably a name of origin after the Schöpplenberg in Westphalia. He was a nephew of the Greifswald mayor Dietrich Schupplenberg and was elected councilor of the Hanseatic city of Greifswald after the death of his uncle around 1351. He represented the city at the Hanseatic Days from 1351 to 1381 as envoy; The Peace of Stralsund (1370) also fell during his term of office . After the death of the mayor Everhard Rubenow around 1379, he was elected mayor of Greifswald and was last mentioned on January 24, 1382 as mayor and head of the St. Georg Hospital .

His son Heyno Schupplenberg was also councilor in Greifswald from 1391 to 1397, his son Hermann was a priest and is proven by traditional manuscripts; Heinrich Schuppenberg also had two other sons from his marriage to the patrician Elisabeth Brasche.
