history

Schöpplenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1050 as a saddle yard in a land register of the Werden Abbey , but it probably goes back to before the time of Charlemagne . He was subordinate to 31 other farms in the Breckerfeld, Hagen-Dahl , Lüdenscheid , Halver , Meinerzhagen , Olpe and Sprockhövel area (here Alter Schee ).

In the 13th century, Schöpplenberg was notarized as a feudal court and thus as property of Werden Abbey. It was the administrative seat and place of court jurisdiction , so it had the function of a monastic upper court . The court Weistum Schöpplenbergs exists today.

There was a chapel in Schöpplenberg . Since the community of Waldbauer, to which Gut Schöpplenberg belonged, did not have its own church, but belonged to the parish of Hagen , the services presumably took place there.

Towards the end of the 16th century, the estate's Schulte and his family adopted the Lutheran faith.

On the night of March 19, 2009, a fire broke out in house number 3, which was fought by 54 firefighters from 1:15 am . There was property damage in the amount of 150,000 euros.
