Location of Waldbauer in Breckerfeld

Waldbauer was an independent municipality until 1970 and is now a district (district) of Breckerfeld in the Ennepe-Ruhr district south of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

Waldbauer covers the northern part of the Breckerfeld urban area. In addition to the larger village of Zurstraße, there are numerous other hamlets and farms in Waldbauer . With Schöpplenberg , the recorded history of the district goes back to the 11th century.

history

From prehistoric times, hill-like elevations are known on Rafflenbeuler Kopf near Hof Rafflenbeul , which are interpreted as grave structures.

The first mention as Waltburschop ( peasantry ) took place in 1486 in the treasure book of Mark County instead. After another mention in 1500 as Walburschop , it is mentioned in 1659 as a Waldbauerrschaft . In 1705 Waldbauer belonged to the judicial district of Hagen in the weather office of the county of Mark .

The beginning of the 19th century brought extensive changes to the old municipal structures. After the conclusion of the Napoleonic campaigns in 1807, Waldbauer belonged as a rural community to the newly established Ruhr department and here to the municipality (later Mairie ) Enneperstraße in the canton of Hagen, which is part of the Dortmund prefecture of the French satellite state of the Grand Duchy of Berg .

Since the end of the civil government between Weser and Rhine in July 1816 , the mayor's office Enneperstraße with the communities Haspe , Vorhalle , Voerde , Waldbauer and Westerbauer as well as a number of smaller farms and hamlets belonged to the newly formed district of Hagen under Prussia .

In 1818 a total of 612 residents lived in the community of Waldbauer, whose living spaces were assigned to the two school districts Zur Straße and Eilpe . According to the table of localities and distances from the government district of Arnsberg , Waldbauer now had a total of 1,036 inhabitants in 1838, which was divided into 24 Catholic and 1,011 Protestant parishioners. The living quarters of the mayor's office comprised a church, four public buildings, 121 residential buildings, 17 factories or mills and 51 agricultural buildings.

Residential places of the community were (contemporary notation):

With the entry into force of the Prussian rural community order for the province of Westphalia in 1843 the superior mayor's office Enneperstraße was converted into the office Enneperstraße , Waldbauer remained in the community association.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1897 gives a population of 1,034 for the community Waldbauer (988 Protestant and 46 Catholic denominations), who lived in 56 places with a total of 148 houses and 184 households. The area of the municipality (2,223 hectares ) was divided into 518 hectares of arable land, 88 hectares of meadows and 1,464 hectares of forest.

In addition to the above, the following residential areas are listed (contemporary notation): Brannten , Buddenkamp , Flachskämpe , Haferkruste , Hampermühle , Hasperhammer , Hegde (Gehegde) , Hinter Feldhausen , Höhe , Langeloh , Lunker , Rothe Hirsch , Schönthal , Strücken and Sundern .

In 1898, the rural community was Westerbauer after hasp amalgamated with which the Office Enneperstraße went out. The rural community of Waldbauer was then attached to the Breckerfeld office.

On April 1, 1901, Waldbauer had to cede an area of 144 hectares in the Selbecke area to the city of Hagen. In 1929 the district of Hagen was dissolved and the Breckerfeld office with forest farmers came to the newly established Ennepe-Ruhr district .

During the Nazi era , the Waldbauer community in the Ennepe-Ruhr district had barely more than 700 inhabitants: 716 inhabitants in 1933 , 719 in 1939 .

On January 1, 1970, the community of Waldbauer was incorporated into the city of Hagen due to the law to reorganize the Ennepe-Ruhr district . After a court ruling, the community became independent again on December 18, 1970. Since it could not remain independent due to its size and population in the urban fringe zone, it was incorporated into the city of Breckerfeld on January 1, 1975 by the Sauerland / Paderborn law , and the Breckerfeld office dissolved at the same time. Parts of the Waldbauer district were reassigned to the city of Hagen.
