Heinrich Strecker (mathematician)

Heinrich Strecker (born September 13, 1922 in Coburg ; † October 17, 2013 ) was Professor of Statistics and Mathematics in Economics .

Life

During his studies in 1941, Strecker became a member of the Munich fraternity Cimbria . After studying mathematics and doing a doctorate in Munich (1949), Strecker initially worked as a consultant at the Bavarian State Statistical Office from 1948 to 1957 . In 1955 he received his habilitation in Munich . From 1957 to 1959 he was associate professor in Mannheim and then until 1988 full professor at the University of Tübingen . As director, he headed the statistics department at the economics seminar. Together with other personalities such as Knut Borchardt and Alfred Eugen Ott , Strecker published the yearbooks for economics and statistics from 1968 to 1982 .

Strecker had been married to Rosemarie Strecker, née Bassenge, since 1962.
