Heinrich Thies (* 1953 in Hademstorf ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Heinrich Thies was born the son of a farmer in Lower Saxony. He studied German, politics, philosophy and journalism and initially worked as a high school teacher. From 1989 to 2015 Thies was an editor and chief reporter at the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung . In 1991 he was awarded the Theodor Wolff Prize .

The author has published numerous books, including biographies, novels, detective stories, non-fiction and children's books. Thies is a member of the Friedrich Bödecker Circle .
