Heinrich Treibert

Heinrich Treibert (born March 31, 1898 in Treysa , † April 30, 1974 in Hofgeismar ) was a German local politician ( SPD ).

Origin and life

Treibert was the son of the postman Heinrich Treibert and his wife Anna Barbara Schwalm. He was an elementary school teacher since April 1, 1919, initially in Treysa and then in Merzhausen and Besse .

Treibert was a member of the SPD and was active in local politics from 1920 onwards. From 1925 he was a member of the district committee Fritzlar and from 1927 deputy chairman of the district committee. In 1928 he became district deputy and thus since January 2, 1929 representative of the sick district administrator . From August 1, 1929, he was entrusted with performing the duties of the district administrator, on October 23, 1929, he became provisional district administrator and on October 26, 1929 he was appointed district administrator of the Fritzlar district. In 1933 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Hesse-Nassau Province and the Municipal Parliament of Kassel . With the dissolution of the district on October 1, 1932, he was put into provisional retirement. With the seizure of power of the Nazis , he was released. From July 14 to 28, 1933, he was held in the Breitenau concentration camp.

On May 29, 1945, he was appointed by the US occupation authorities as district administrator for the district of Ziegenhain . He remained district administrator until June 30, 1948 and resigned after the local elections in Hesse in 1948 . The German District Association appointed him an honorary member. From 1948 to 1964, Treibert was CEO of Elektrizäts AG Mitteldeutschland ( EAM ) in Kassel.
