Christian Ludwig (Louis) Weber (born December 26, 1806 in Rotenburg an der Fulda , † April 3, 1879 in Wolfhagen ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Electorate of Hesse , which came to the Kingdom of Prussia .

Life

He came from a Calvinist pastor's family. His father, Georg Ludwig Weber, was a pastor in Rotenburg an der Fulda. Christian Ludwig Weber was tutored by his father and passed his Abitur from the examination board in Marburg in 1823. He enrolled on November 6, 1823 and studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg . On March 14, 1827, he passed the first state examination in Kassel.

He was auscultator from April 11, 1827 and from April 25, 1828 assistant to the actuary at the Rotenburg office . On December 27, 1828 Christian Ludwig Weber first entered the service of the Landgrave of Hesse-Rotenburg , who also owned Ratibor . Weber was secretary of the ducal chamber of Ratibor for the Landgrave Victor Amadeus . On December 20, 1830 he became an assessor there , on October 20, 1831 official secretary in the Ludwigstein office, then assessor in Witzenhausen , from November 16, 1836 an actuary at the Witzenhausen justice office and from May 8, 1839 a judicial officer (today corresponds to a judge at the local court ) at the Rotenburg an der Fulda Justice Office . On July 6, 1843, he was transferred back to the Witzenhausen judicial office in the same position, again to Rotenburg on April 27, 1848, to Jesberg on September 14, 1848, and on January 28, 1851, he became state procurator in Marburg.

On September 6, 1851, he was appointed district administrator of the Hanau district. After only one year, on December 16, 1852, he was the first district administrator to be transferred to the newly created Fritzlar district . He survived the annexation of Electorate Hesse by Prussia in 1866 unscathed and was confirmed as royal Prussian district administrator on March 30, 1869. In 1868 he moved to the Wolfhagen district for disciplinary reasons, also as district administrator . Here he died in office in 1879.

Act

During his time as district administrator in the Fritzlar district, he was intensively historically active. He wrote treatises on regional history and campaigned for the preservation of historically valuable archive material . He had architectural monuments documented by the photographer August Jablonski.

family

Christian Ludwig Weber married Wilhelmine Adelheid Hattenbach, daughter of Konrad Wilhelm Hattenbach , bailiff in Rotenburg an der Fulda on October 27, 1833 . They had three sons and a daughter.
