Mathias Floeth

Mathias Floeth (* 8. April 1896 in Süchteln ; † 10. November 1956 Hanau ) was a German civil servant and the first by the US occupying power in 1945 used district administrator of the district of Hanau .

Mathias Floeth graduated from school with the upper secondary qualification and began his professional career in the municipal administration of Vorst . In the First World War he was a soldier from 1915 to 1918.

Administrative career

He then worked from 1919 to 1921 in the city administration of Süchteln, then until 1927 in the administration of the Kempen district and passed the two administrative examinations in 1922 and 1926 . On February 21, 1927, he moved to the Hanau district as administrative director , where he worked until March 31, 1944 - under District Administrator Fritz Löser from 1933 onwards. On April 1, 1944, he was seconded to Kassel , where he worked successively for the city, the state food office and the regional president .

The US occupation forces deposed the NSDAP district administrator Fritz Löser on March 28, 1945 and appointed Mathias Floeth to the district administrator of the Hanau district on April 6, 1945 until he was replaced by Wilhelm Voller on May 31, 1945 . From the beginning of July 1945 Floeth was transferred to the Kreissparkasse Hanau , which was ended on September 13, 1945 by an order of the military government that forbade him from any public employment in the future. From August 1, 1949, however, he was again a civil servant , now in the audit office of the Hessian Supreme State Authority .
