Heinrich Wachs (lawyer)

Heinrich Rudolph Theodor Ferdinand Wachs (born April 13, 1796 in Merxhausen , † June 10, 1875 in Kassel ) was a German administrative officer, district administrator in various districts and director of the administration of various provinces of the Electorate of Hesse .

Origin and education

He was born as the fifth of seven children of the district judge Karl Philipp Reinhard Wachs (1756-1833) and his wife Anna Dorothea Busch (1764-1844). Heinrich Wachs studied at the Philipps University in Marburg from 1812 .

Career

After graduating, he was district secretary of the Fritzlar district until 1831 , after which he held the same position in the Hanau district until 1834. 1834-1840 he was district administrator of the Schlüchtern district , 1840–1849 district administrator of the Hanau district and 1849–1850 district administrator of the Hofgeismar district . He was appointed a councilor and was director of the Kassel district in 1850/51 . In the reaction era after the revolution of 1848 , the districts in Kurhessen were dissolved again in 1851. Heinrich Wachs became director of the restored Lower Hesse province . From 1858–1865 he was director of the province of Fulda and at the same time sovereign representative of the diocese of Fulda and curator of the state library of Fulda . Finally, he was employed for a short time as the government director of the province of Hanau before he was retired on September 3, 1866, by the Prussians who had occupied the country after the German war , shortly before the Electorate of Hesse on September 20. Annexed September 1866 . He received the Royal Prussian Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with a bow and was also knight of the electoral Wilhelmsorden and commander of the Hanoverian Guelph order .

Heinrich Wachs married Henriette Viktoria Adelheid Saeltzer on August 9, 1831. The marriage had seven children.
