Heinrich Wächter

Heinrich Wächter (born March 19, 1950 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) is a chef and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany, awarded for his social commitment. He is the founder of the Cooks Club Gelsenkirchen e. V. (founded on July 16, 1979), a branch of the Association of German Chefs. V. .

Media appearances

Heinrich Wächter became known to a wider audience through a series of television appearances as a chef. He appeared on RTL , Sat.1 , ProSieben , on WDR television and on regional radio broadcasts.

He publishes columns with recipes of regional cuisine in the daily newspapers of the Ruhr area .

social commitment

Heinrich Wächter has been organizing charity galas for social institutions and charitable purposes since 1993. He has been a specialist teacher at the Königstraße vocational college in Gelsenkirchen since 1979. One focus of his social work is the training of young chefs and the support of schools in their training.

On September 13, 2008, Heinrich Wächter and the Gelsenkirchen Cooks Club baked the longest pizza in the world at 207 meters, thus setting a world record. The proceeds from the campaign benefited the Association for Cancer Advice and Aid in the Emscher-Lippe Region eV.
