Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Birner

Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Birner (born June 3, 1820 in Bütow , † April 19, 1894 in Regenwalde ) was a German chemist and director of the agricultural research station in Regenwalde.

Life

Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Birner studied at the University of Erlangen and received his doctorate on December 31, 1854 at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Erlangen.

He initially worked as a lecturer in chemistry, physics and technology at the Royal Agricultural Academy in Regenwalde in Western Pomerania and later as director of the chemical laboratory and conductor of the agricultural research station.

Heinrich Birner held the title of professor and then headed the agricultural research station as director for many years.

He was an honorary member and permanent general secretary of the Pomeranian Economic Society as well as a full member of the German Chemical Society founded in 1867 .

On February 7, 1858, Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Birner was given the academic surname Leop. Gmelin III. admitted as a member ( matriculation no. 1854 ) to the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina .
