Heinrich Wilkens (born June 25, 1881 in Nauen , † July 9, 1948 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf ) was a German clergyman and politician (center).

Live and act

After attending elementary school, the Matthias Gymnasium in Breslau and the Gymnasium in Norden in East Friesland, Wilkens studied theology at the University of Breslau . After his ordination in 1905 he was employed as a chaplain in several parishes. He was in Zobten, Breslau, Wansen, Sagan, Berlin and Steinau in Upper Silesia. He then became a curate in Seitwann near Guben , before becoming a pastor in Dittersbach in the Sagan district in Lower Saxony in January 1916.

After the First World War at the latest, Wilkens began to become more involved in the Catholic Center Party . In 1921 he became a member of the Sagan District Council. From May 1924 to September 1930 he sat for three terms as a member of the Reichstag , in which he represented constituency 8 (Liegnitz).

Wilkens, who was particularly active in the field of youth care, was also a member of the board of the Central Association of Catholic Day Care Centers and the Association for School Child Care. In addition, he was a member of the main board of the local political association of the Center Party.
