The Heinrich Wimmer oHG tin toys factory (HWN) was a 1920 in Nuremberg based toys undertakings incinerating or its production focus on the production of inexpensive toy trains was. The company existed until 1976.

Company history

In 1920, the second-hand dealer Heinrich Wimmer founded in Nuremberg, the company HWN and started production of vehicle - and aircraft - models with clockwork on. He had previously traded in machine tools , iron hardware and tools . In 1930 Wimmer relocated its operations within Nuremberg. In 1933 he added model tanks and launchers to his production range.

After the Second World War , in addition to commercial vehicles and tin planes , the company manufactured model railways in 0 and H0 gauges with clockwork and electric drives . In addition, accessories were produced: train stations, houses, trees and others. Heinrich Wimmer left the company in 1969. This was continued by his son, Ernst Wimmer, and dissolved in 1976.

From 1955 to 1957 streamline steam locomotives with electric drive and clockwork railcars were produced. The range included Bullaugenloks . Locomotives were available in mixed construction, with plastic housings and chassis made of sheet metal. Tender Region diesels reported purchased Tender constructions of the company Bub on. Locomotives were produced on the TT scale , but for the H0 gauge.
