Heinz-Dieter Assmann

Heinz-Dieter Assmann (born January 17, 1951 in Heusenstamm ) is a German lawyer and professor emeritus at the University of Tübingen . His research and teaching focus on corporate and capital market law. Since October 1, 2016, he has been an Of Counsel at Gleiss Lutz Rechtsanwälte in Stuttgart.

Life

Assmann studied law and social science at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1969 . After the first (1974) and second legal state examination (1977), he became a research assistant at Friedrich Kübler's chair in Frankfurt a. M. He was 1980 Kübler with a study on the economic right of Mixed Economy for Dr. iur. PhD . In 1980/81 he completed an LL.M. - Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia . After returning to Germany, he worked on his habilitation project on prospectus liability , with which he completed his habilitation in 1984. Assmann then worked as a lawyer for a short time until he accepted an appointment at Heidelberg University in 1985 . In the following year he moved to the University of Tübingen , where he held the chair for civil law, commercial and economic law, comparative law and legal theory until September 30, 2016.

Appointments to the universities of Münster (successor to Sandrock) and Frankfurt a. He turned down M. (successor to Kübler).

Assmann was visiting professor at the University of Tokyo (Todai) in 1994 , in 1995 at the Chūō University in Tokyo and in 1997 at the University of Chicago . Since 1993 he has been the managing co-editor of fortnightly at Verlag Dr. Otto Schmidt (Cologne) magazine "Die Aktiengesellschaft".

From October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2016, Assmann was Vice-Rector of the University of Tübingen for Structure and International Affairs.

Assmann is Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AVAG Holding SE in Augsburg.

Assmann has been working as a lawyer and Of Counsel at Gleiss Lutz in Stuttgart since October 1, 2016 .
