Heinz-Lothar Worm

Heinz-Lothar Worm (* 1947 in Bad Wildungen ) is a German author of Christian literature and children's radio plays as well as educational specialist literature. He is a Germanist , local researcher in the area of Upper Hesse and head of the Hüttenberger Heimatmuseum in Leihgestern .

Life

Heinz-Lothar Worm grew up as the oldest of four children in Northern Hesse. Family backgrounds such as the father, who came from Sudeten Germany , but also the mother's Waldeck homeland were formative. Worm first completed a course of study for teaching at elementary, secondary and secondary schools in Giessen and then completed an additional course as a special school teacher . He also passed the alternative practitioner examination and received his doctorate in philosophy from the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . Until 1997 he worked at special schools in Wetzlar . He also worked here for fourteen years as a speech therapy teacher in the health department. He completed his habilitation and has been teaching at various German universities since 1981.

Heinz-Lothar Worms began writing with children 's radio plays for Evangeliums-Rundfunk . In addition to around 50 radio plays, he wrote over a dozen novels related to his homeland and authored specialist publications in the form of teaching materials and textbooks for primary and special schools. He also collects songs from Upper Hesse and works as a songwriter, for which he was awarded in 1990 by the North German Broadcasting Corporation. Worm also works as a surname researcher in the Gießen region, head of the Hüttenberger Heimatmuseum in loan yesterday and in 2011 completed a five-volume Hessian literary lexicon. As a hobby, he paints and designs postcards with motifs associated with home. In 2009 he was awarded the Honorary Letter of the State of Hesse and in 2019 the Hessian Order of Merit for his services to the State of Hesse and its people.

Heinz-Lothar Worm is remarried and has three children.
