Bernd Hänsler (born July 24, 1946 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Hänsler last played in the youth department of Tasmania Berlin before he moved up to the amateur team in 1964 and was used in the third-class amateur league Berlin . For the 1965/66 season he moved up to the first team that took the place of city rivals Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga after the latter - due to violation of the statutes - was downgraded by the DFB to the second-class Berlin Regionalliga . Previously, Tennis Borussia Berlin had already failed in the promotion round as champions of the Regionalliga Berlin 1964/65 and the second-placed club Spandauer SV waived promotion. Since he was unable to prevail against his teammates Peter Engler , Horst Szymaniak and Klaus Konieczka in midfield , he only played five point games, all of which were lost with a total of 1:21 goals. He made his debut on October 23, 1965 (10th matchday) in the 3-0 defeat in the away game against Meidericher SV . As one of 24 players, he was a member of the club that is still considered to be the most unsuccessful club in the history of the Bundesliga . After relegation to the Regionalliga Berlin , he played, although still belonging to the club until the end of the 1967/68 season , only on February 4, 1968 to his only point game in this, when he was substituted in for Robert Hempfler in the 58th minute .
