Heinz-Werner Baker

Heinz-Werner Bäcker (born in the 20th century) is a former German hockey player.

Career

Heinz-Werner Bäcker comes from the Ruhr area and grew up in Mülheim an der Ruhr . Since he was interested in hockey at an early age, he became a member of the Uhlenhorst Mülheim hockey and tennis club . He became a regular player in the first team of his club, which was then one of the leading German field hockey clubs. With the HTC Uhlenhorst he was four times German champion in field hockey. He and the team succeeded for the first time in 1955. Other German championships followed with his participation in 1957, 1958 and 1960.

For winning the field hockey championship in 1955, which was the third in the history of the HTC Uhlenhorst, the 1955 team with Heinz-Werner Bäcker, Heinz Schmidt, Robert Latte , Helmut Nonn , Jochen Lehmann , Rolf Schmidt, Heinz Langmann , Herbert Mohr , Wolfgang Nonn , Günter Oelert , Willi Bruckmann and Horst Beier presented the Silver Laurel Leaf to Federal President Theodor Heuss on October 23, 1955 .
