Willi Bruckmann

Willi Bruckmann (born 1934 ; died April 22, 2014 ) was a German hockey player .

Career

Willi Bruckmann comes from Mülheim an der Ruhr . Since he was enthusiastic about hockey from his youth, he entered hockey in 1945 in Germany in the 1940s and 1950s with the leading club, the HTC Uhlenhorst Mülheim . Because of his achievements, he was one of the regular players of his club in the 1950s, with whom he was three times German champion in field hockey. He succeeded in this for the first time in 1954. Other championships followed in 1955 and 1956.

For winning the field hockey championship in 1955 - the third of the HTC Uhlenhorst - Federal President Theodor Heuss awarded the entire team - Heinz-Werner Bäcker , Heinz Schmidt , Robert Latte , Helmut Nonn , Jochen Lehmann , Rolf Schmidt , Heinz Langmann , Herbert Mohr , Wolfgang Nonn , Günter Oelert , Horst Beier and Willi Bruckmann - the silver bay leaf on October 23, 1955.

After his active playing career, he continued to volunteer for his club. In the 1960s he was youth chairman, then until the 1980s he was a coach and supervisor and finally from 1974 to 1981 he was the coach of the first men's team at HTC Uhlenhorst.

Willi Bruckmann was an honorary member of the HTC Uhlenhorst. In his memory, his association organized a memorial tournament on September 8, 2019, five years after his death at the age of 80.
