Heinz Blessmann

Heinz Blessmann (* 1927 in Oberhausen ) is a German engineer. He was the managing director of Deutsche Solvay Werke , a member of the board of Kali-Chemie AG and is an honorary senator of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology .

Live and act

Heinz Blessmann went to high school in 1947, first in a fitter teachings and put 1,950 skilled workers examination. He then began studying chemical engineering and process engineering at the University of Karlsruhe . Blessmann was active in the Corps Saxonia Karlsruhe from 1951 to 1953 .

In 1950 his career began as an assistant in the Rheinberg soda factory of Deutsche Solvay GmbH and from 1957 he built up the department for measurement and control technology. In 1965 he was appointed to the head office in Solingen, where he was appointed authorized signatory in 1969 and director of the technology and chemistry department in 1972. From 1977 he was managing director of Deutsche Solvay GmbH and from 1982 also a member of the board of the subsidiary Kali-Chemie AG . In both companies, he optimized the energy supply for the plants and pushed ahead with process automation. Under his leadership, a central technology department and an environmental protection and safety department were created for all Solvay plants in Germany.

After 35 years working for the German Solvay Group with over 11,000, he retired in 1990.
