Heinz Brendelberger

Heinz Brendelberger (* 1955 in Karlsruhe ) is a German limnologist .

Brendelberger studied limnology , zoology , biochemistry and soil science at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the University of Kiel and the University of Cologne . Since 1999 he has been Professor of Limnology and Zoology at the University of Kiel.

His main research interests are the trophic interactions of living things in the body of water ( plankton ) and those of the bottom zone ( benthos ) of standing and flowing water.

Together with Jürgen Schwoerbel , who died in 2002, he is the author of the standard work Introduction to Limnology .
