Heinz Butz

Heinz Butz (born December 2, 1925 in Dillingen an der Donau ) is a German painter and draftsman .

Live and act

Heinz Butz spent his childhood and youth in Dillingen on the Danube. From early summer 1944 to 1945 he was on the Eastern Front in Russia, then until December 1946 in Soviet captivity. From 1948 to 1950 Heinz Butz studied painting, drawing and composition at the art school of the city of Augsburg , followed by six years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .

Heinz Butz taught at the art school from 1954 and then at the Werkkunstschule of the city of Augsburg. In 1967 he was appointed to the Munich Academy of Fine Arts , where he taught until 1991. Since 1995 he has been a member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts .

Heinz Butz had (e) numerous exhibitions a. a. in Berlin, Munich, Augsburg, Rome, Zurich and many smaller places in Bavaria (e.g. in Haslangkreit Castle , Garmisch and Dillingen on the Danube). In 2007 the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts dedicated a highly acclaimed exhibition to him.
