Heinz Fraas

Heinz Fraas (born March 7, 1941 in Heidelberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary and secondary school in Wald-Michelbach , Fraas completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk in Weinheim . From 1965 to 1977 he worked as a technical sales clerk at Siemens AG and then went into business for himself.

Political party

Fraas joined the SPD in 1965, joined the Young Socialists and was chairman of the Jusos for the SPD sub-district Bergstrasse from 1967 to 1970 . From 1977 to 1982 he headed the subdistrict.

MP

Fraas was elected to the council of the community of Mörlenbach and was from 1968 to 1985 member of the district council of the Bergstrasse district . He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1974 until his resignation on July 10, 1989.

Public offices

Fraas was an honorary First Alderman from 1985 to 1989 and then a full-time First Alderman for the Bergstrasse district until 1995. At the same time he was deputy district administrator. In his functions, he headed the education office, the social welfare office and the refugee office of the district.
