Hooker barberry ( Berberis hookeri ) is a species in the genus of barberry ( Berberis ) in the family of Barberry (Berberidaceae).

The home of Hookers barberry is in Nepal , in Bhutan , the Indian provinces Sikkim and Assam , and in Chinese Xinjiang .

description

Hooker's barberry is an evergreen, upright shrub that can reach a height of 1.2 meters. The twigs are brown and angular, the thorns are three-part and up to 3 centimeters long. The leaves are elliptical-lanceolate in shape, thin-leather, glossy dark green on top and almost blue-white on the underside; they are up to 7 centimeters long, have network nerves and have 7 to 15 forward-facing teeth on each side. The flowers are yellow-green and 2 to 6 are in corymbs from May to June.
