Heinz Harst

Heinz Harst (born June 20, 1934 in Neckarsulm ) is a German table tennis player . He is a two-time German mixed master.

Associations and national competitions

Harst began his career in 1947 at the SpVgg Neckarsulm club , where he still plays today after a guest appearance at the DJK Sportbund Stuttgart from 1961 to 1965. In Württemberg he won the state championship in singles in 1959, as well as in 1961 and 1963. He was Württemberg champion in doubles with Klaus Werz seven times.

German championships

In 1959 he was German runner-up behind Conny Freundorfer in Donaueschingen , and with Klaus Werz he finished third in doubles. He was runner-up in doubles in 1967 with Friedrich Haase . With his wife Inge he came in mixed in 1961 and 1962 in second place, in 1963 and 1964 they even won the German championship.

He was also German runner-up in 1964 with the team from DJK Sportbund Stuttgart .

International

Between 1956 and 1963 he made four international matches. He was first used in November 1956 against the Netherlands, where he remained undefeated. At the 1959 World Cup in Dortmund, he played in the individual competitions.

Trainer and functionary

After the end of his career in competitive sports, he worked as a trainer for SpVgg Neckarsulm . From 1965 he was a member of the board of the table tennis association Württemberg-Hohenzollern . From 1965 to 1968 he was secretary, then apprentice warden. He put the focus on the youth work. From 1971 to 1983 he worked on the teaching committee of the DTTB. The DTTB awarded him the Golden Badge of Honor in 1987 and 1995 for his services. In 1993 he became deputy chairman of the table tennis association Württemberg-Hohenzollern.

Private

In 1961 Heinz Harst married Inge Müser . He has two daughters with her. He is a graduate engineer and worked mainly in the automotive industry, for example at NSU, Daimler and Audi.
