Inge Harst

Inge Harst (* as Inge Müser June 9, 1940 in Rodenberg ) was one of the best German table tennis players in the early 1960s .

Career

Inge Harst won the German championship in singles and doubles in 1960 and 1961 (with Jutta Kruse ). In the national ranking tournament they won the first place. Her top position in the German rankings in 1960 and 1961 shows that she was the best German table tennis player at that time.

She celebrated her greatest international success in 1962: At the European Championships , she won the gold medal with the German women's team. And also in mixed she became European champion at the side of Hans Alser . She was already nominated for the EM in 1964, but she decided not to take part for “family reasons”.

Between 1957 and 1968 she played 52 international matches.

In 1961 Inge Müser married the table tennis player Heinz Harst , with whom she was already German vice-champion in mixed. In 1963 and 1964 the two even took first place in mixed.

1985 Inge Harst ended her active career. Then she devoted herself to the youth work of the SpVgg Neckarsulm association.

Private

Inge Harst has two daughters who both play table tennis in the 2nd Bundesliga. In 2004 Harst lived in Neckarsulm .

Honors

In 1956, the Lower Saxony table tennis association honored Inge Müser with silver. In 1984 she received the Medal of Honor from the City of Neckarsulm for her table tennis successes on an international level. In 1990 the DTTB awarded her the Barna Prize.
