Career

Heide Dauphin started her career at TSV Haunstetten . She was promoted and trained by her father Erhard Dauphin, who at the time was an official in Bavaria and Swabia. In 1955 Heide became Bavarian youth champion for the first time, and in 1958 she repeated this success. In 1957 and 1958 she was German youth champion. At the European youth championship in 1957 in Donaueschingen, Dauphin was European champion in singles, in doubles she reached the final with Helga Scheithe. In 1960, Heide joined the Police SV Augsburg. A year later she went to TSV Schwaben Augsburg , in 1962 to BSG Messerschmitt Augsburg in the upper league .

In 1962 she won the national German championship in doubles for the first time in Freiburg (Breisgau) with her partner Edit Buchholz . They defended this title in 1963 and 1964. In 1963 and 1964 Dauphin was nominated five times for international matches. She took part in the individual competitions of the European Championship in 1962 , where she lost to Diane Rowe in the round of 16 of the individual . At the European Championships in 1964 , she reached sixth place with the women's team.
