Heinz Horak

Heinz Horak (born August 8, 1927 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pianist , arranger and director .

Live and act

Horak studied at the Vienna Music Academy and the University of Vienna in 1947/48 , after which he worked as a composer, lyricist and musical director of cabarets, revue programs and theater performances. He worked at the Theater in der Josefstadt from 1992 and designed numerous shows for ORF .

For his wife Tilla Hohenfels , who died in 1994 , Horak wrote texts and music for numerous chansons and duos. With their programs (“Chansons a la Carte”, “Walk through Vienna” and others) they have toured Austria and Germany.

In autumn 2001 Horak made his last theater production with the play "Mich They Should Have Seen" on the occasion of the opening of the Gloria Theater.
