Heinz J. Rosenberger

Heinz (Heinrich) J. Rosenberger (born April 10, 1937 in Wallsee , Lower Austria ; † December 3, 1999 in Marrakech , Morocco ) was an Austrian entrepreneur. In 1972 he founded the restaurant chain named after him , which he expanded to 19 restaurants (including 18 motorway service stations ) and a hotel with a total of around 1000 employees by his death in 1999 .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a cook and pastry chef, Rosenberger went to Canada , where he worked in hotel and catering management and where he met his future wife Beverly , who came from Joggins .

In 1972 Heinz returned to Austria together with Beverly and in December they opened the first Rosenberg motorway service station in St. Pölten, followed by the first motel in Großram in August 1976 . In the following years, more motorway restaurants were opened at various locations throughout Austria.

The married couple Heinz and Beverly have two children who both work in their parents' company - the rally racing driver Kris (Kristopher, born May 5, 1969 in Canada) and Melina.

Rosenberger died on December 3, 1999 in Morocco of complications from pneumonia, the business was continued by the widow.
