Ashley Nick (born October 27, 1987 in Monrovia , California ) is an American football player .

Career

Nick attended Arcadia High School from 2001 to 2004 . After four years at Arcadia High, she enrolled at the University of Southern California in the fall of 2005 .

Nick started her career at the Santa Anita Soccer Club in Arcadia, California . This was followed by positions at Mission Viejo Soccer Club and the Newport Beach- based club Slammers FC. During her time with the Slammers, she was a member of the Women Soccer Team Apaches, Arcadia High School . After graduating from high school, she joined the Women Soccer Team USC Trojans at the University of Southern California .

Nick played for the Buffalo Flash in the US W-League in 2009 . In the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons she played for the Eredivisie participant FC Twente Enschede , with whom she was able to celebrate the championship in 2011.

In the summer of 2012 Nick left Enschede and joined the Norwegian first division side Arna-Bjørnar . In the first half of 2013, Nick was part of the Pali Blues squad in the W-League and moved back to Norway to Avaldsnes IL in July .

Just one month later, on August 1, 2013, NWSL participant Sky Blue FC announced Nick's signing for the remainder of the 2013 season. She made her debut there two days later against Washington Spirit as a substitute. After the end of the NWSL season, she moved on loan to the Russian first division club Zorkiy Krasnogorsk until the end of the year and then returned to Sky Blue FC. In September 2014, Nick switched to the Cypriot first division and Champions League participant Apollon Limassol on loan until December 2014 . For the 2015 season she first joined the Houston Dash and switched to Western New York Flash in May in exchange for Toni Pressley . After another engagement in Limassol at the turn of the year 2015/16, Nick returned to Sky Blue FC for the 2016 season of the NWSL.

Nick is the cousin of NFL player Clay Matthews , who, like her, attended the University of Southern California .
