Heinz Jordan (engineer)

Heinz Robert Jordan (born May 29, 1906 in Düsseldorf ; † July 27, 1982 ) was a German electrical engineer and university professor.

Life

Heinz Jordan was born in Düsseldorf in 1906. He first studied in Munich with a degree in engineering and received his doctorate in 1937 from RWTH Aachen University with a dissertation on economic and technical investigations on electric drives in hard coal processing . In 1955 Jordan became professor at the Technical University of Hanover and director of the Institute for Electrical Machines. He retired in 1974. His doctoral students include Peter Friedrich Brosch and Heinrich Frohne . Since 1963 he was a member of the Braunschweig Scientific Society . Heinz Jordan died in 1982.

Heinz Jordan is considered a major electrical machine manufacturer. In 1982 he received the VDE Honor Ring.
