Heinz Knoke (politician)

Heinz Knoke (born March 24, 1921 in Hameln ; † May 18, 1993 in Georgsmarienhütte ) was a German politician ( SRP ), member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and author.

Life

After attending a grammar school in Hameln, Heinz Knoke worked as a leader of the Hitler Youth . He joined the Air Force in 1939 and became a pilot in August 1940. In December of the same year he was transferred to Jagdgeschwader 52 . In 1943 flew in the Reich defense against US bomber units . In the second half of 1944 he was group commander in Jagdgeschwader 1 "Oesau" . He was shot four times and sustained five wounds. In his missions he achieved 33 aerial victories. After the end of the Second World War he was interned in autumn 1945 and arrested several times; as part of the denazification , he lost his job in 1946. As a result, he worked as a driver, car mechanic and warehouse clerk, and he worked as a freelance writer.

From the autumn of 1949 he became politically active and a member of the Socialist Reich Party. From May 6, 1951 to October 23, 1952, he was a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament (2nd electoral period), and from October 10, 1952 to October 22, 1952, he was the secretary of the Lower Saxony State Parliament. In the period from July 15, 1952 to October 23, 1952, he joined the parliamentary group of Abgg. Dr. Schrieber and Gen. on. After the SRP was banned by a ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court on October 23, 1952, his mandate and that of all other SRP parliamentary group members expired ( BVerfGE 2, 1). After the SRP was banned, he worked for the FDP . He worked at the Frisian Brewery in Jever until he retired . He then studied literature and philosophy .

In 1952 Bösendahl published his autobiographical book The Great Hunt: Log of a German fighter pilot , which from 1953 had a certain success in the English-speaking world in the translation I Flew for the Führer.
