Heinz Marx

Heinz Marx (born September 29, 1939 in Kottwitz / Silesia) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR football association. He played there for SC Motor / FC Carl Zeiss Jena , with whom he was twice champion.

Athletic career

Heinz Marx was born in the company sports club Empor in Schöneck / Vogtl. and Empor Tabak Dresden trained as a soccer player, but joined BSG Motor Jena in 1953 at the age of 14, which was transformed into the Motor Jena sports club a year later. Between 1957 and 1958 he played eight international matches with the GDR junior national team, later he played six more times in the junior national team. After graduating from high school, he initially completed an apprenticeship as a tracer, but later became a technical businessman.

In the 1958 season, Marx was included in the squad of the first men's team in Jena. Marx missed SC Motor's first title, winning the cup in 1960, because he was not in the final. In contrast, he made 21 stakes in the 1962/63 season for the first Jena championship title. He was able to repeat this success in 1967/68, now for the FC Carl Zeiss Jena, which was founded in 1966 from the soccer sports club section; it was used in all 26 point games. In February 1969 he had to end his football career in the major league due to injury. The 1.80 m tall midfielder and later defender completed 293 competitive games in the men's area in which he scored nine goals. In detail, there were 223 league games, 28 GDR cup games , as well as nine appearances in the European Cup and 33 games in the International Football Cup . Between 1969 and 1972 Marx was still used in the 2nd team of FC Carl Zeiss.

In 1989, Heinz Marx left the GDR and later settled in Lehrte near Hanover.
