Heinz Neubauer (born November 15, 1933 ) is a former German soccer player. Between 1952 and 1963 he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , for Lok Stendal and Dynamo Dresden .

Athletic career

In the 195/53 season Heinz Neubauer made his debut in the GDR league with three appearances in the second half for Lok Stendal. In 1953/54 he was already a regular player with 27 of 28 league games, with Kurt Brüggemann he formed the middle field axis of the Stendal. At the end of the season, the BSG Lok had to relegate to the GDR league , where Neubauer was mainly used as a striker in 20 of 26 league games and scored seven goals. In September 1955 Neubauer played an international match with the B national team. In the encounter between GDR and Romania (3-0) he was used as a right midfielder. Lok Stendal immediately returned to the league in 1955, which, like all GDR football, played in a calendar year rhythm from 1956 onwards. In the 1956 season, Neubauer returned to midfield, missed only one of the 26 league games and was successful again as a goalscorer with five goals. In 1957 he was injured for seven weeks, so he could only be used 18 times in the league and for the first time since 1953/54 he was without a goal. At the end of the season, Stendal rose again. In the 1958 GDR league season, Neubauer was injured again for a long time, so that he could only play twelve of the 26 point games and this time did not score a goal. Lok Stendal managed to get promoted again immediately, but then developed into an elevator team, because in the following seasons there was a constant off and on between the Oberliga and the GDR league. Before Neubauer retired from higher-class football in 1963, he played two more regulars in the major league in 1959 and 1961/62 (return to the autumn-spring rhythm of the game). When he had helped BSG to rise to the league again in 1962/63 with 16 appearances in 26 league games, he played a game for Dynamo Dresden five game days before the league ended. For the 1963/64 season, Neubauer was back in the league squad, but was only used in a league game on the 1st matchday. So he came in his career to 129 league games (7 goals) and 73 GDR league games (10 goals).
