Heinz Niemeyer (table tennis player)

Heinz Niemeyer (* around 1937) is a German table tennis player who took part in the 1962 European Championship .

Heinz Niemeyer began his table tennis career at Blau-Weiß Schenefeld , played for Hamburger SV around 1964 , and then again at Blau-Weiß Schenefeld from 1965. From 1962 to 1964 he won the Hamburg singles championship three times in a row.

In 1962 he was nominated for the individual competitions of the European Championship in West Berlin. Here he failed in the singles in the first round to Fernando Huecas (Spain). In doubles with Rüdiger Reinecke , he won against Kenneth Eloury / Edward O'Neill (Jersey) and then lost against Paul Bertrand / Guy Delabarre (Belgium). The mixed with Ulla Paulsen also survived the first round against Gérard Chergui / Martine Le Bras (France), then lost to the silver medalists Schöler / Simon (Germany).

Heinz Niemeyer mostly played in the same clubs with his brother Horst. He is married.
