Heinz Rother (soccer player)

Heinz Rother (born May 12, 1963 ) is a former German soccer player .

For the 1985/86 season the striker came SC bridge next to Bodo Illgner (own youth), David Pizanti (Maccabi), Olaf Janssen (own youth) and Detlef Dezelak (own amateurs) as a recent addition to 1. FC Köln . Due to the competition in the person of the other attackers Klaus Allofs , Pierre Littbarski , Norbert Dickel and Hans-Peter Lehnhoff , his chances of being able to establish himself with the billy goat eleven were very questionable from the start. In the course of the lap he actually played in the Bundesliga . At the game against SV Waldhof Mannheim he was substituted on by coach Georg Keßler - who had replaced Johannes Löhr on February 7, 1986 . The 1.81 m tall striker was substituted on on the penultimate round match day, on April 22, 1986, in a 1-1 draw at SV Waldhof in the 63rd minute of the game. It was his only use in German professional football. After the season he left Cologne and went back to the amateur field. So he played u. a. still for SC Viktoria Köln in the Oberliga Nordrhein .
