Heio Letzel

Heio Letzel (* 1947 in Munich ) is a German documentary filmmaker and film journalist.

Letzel spent his childhood in the Allgäu and his youth in the Bavarian Oberland . He studied theater and newspaper studies , as well as philosophy and psychology .

He then shot reports for the program Our Land of Bavarian TV for over 20 years . After that he mainly worked for the series Under Our Sky and "Pictures of a Landscape" for the same station. He retired in autumn 2013 with the program “Villages Between Yesterday and Tomorrow” .

Heio Letzel is a full member of the Bavarian Rural Academy .
