Our country is an information and advice program that is produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk and is broadcast every Friday at 7 p.m. on BR TV . It is repeated every Sunday at 4.15 p.m.

Beginnings in 1964
The program was first broadcast on October 24, 1964, at that time under the title Für Hof und Garten . It is therefore the oldest advice program still in existence today on Bavarian television. The initiator and founder of the broadcast format was Erich Geiersberger , an agricultural scientist who founded the first machine ring in Bavaria. Geiersberger directed the show together with the Landfunk editorial team on the Bavarian Radio until 1991 . The country radio on the radio and our country on television were the first bimedial structured editorial on Bavarian Radio. The two media, radio and television, are closely interlinked in terms of personnel and topics. It is characteristic that the same authors are represented with their topics on both radio and television. In the early days, the series was primarily designed as a guide for farmers and dealt primarily with production in agriculture, with topics relating to the farm and with agricultural policy .
Renamed 1973
On October 1, 1973, the program was given its current name Unser Land , and the land radio on radio was later renamed to the Agriculture and Environment editorial team . This was accompanied by an expansion of the range of information to include topics relating to rural areas . Since then, in addition to agricultural policy and agriculture, the program has also focused on consumer and environmental issues. The program also offers recipes, tips for pet owners and reports from forestry and forestry. For several years, poems and stories by the dialect poet Ponzauner Wigg were an integral part of the program. A regularly recurring topic are weather and farmer rules .
Since the start of BR-ONLINE on October 16, 1995 (today BR.de), our country has been represented on its own homepage with information and videos on the Internet and has thus become a pioneer in the meantime, in association with agriculture and the environment, on radio of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation's comprehensive trimediality.
The journalist and agricultural scientist Petra Kindhammer has been the director of Unser Land on television since 1991 , she also heads the Agriculture and Environment editorial team at Bayerischer Rundfunk and, since 2017, the tri-media editorial team "Agriculture and Environment" for Bayerischer Rundfunk, which also includes the broadcast format and the editorial weed heard.
In 2014 the show celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Audience acceptance
From the beginning, Unser Land was one of the most watched programs on Bavarian TV. In 2014, in the 50th anniversary year of Bavarian TV, the show's average market share was 14.6 percent and since then has been at the top of all news and magazine programs on Bavarian TV.

In its 50-year history, our country has been moderated by Carolin Reiber , Uschi Dämmrich von Luttitz , Annette Betz , Christian Seiffert, Christine Schneider and Florian Schrei , among others . Janina Nottensteiner has been moderating the show since April 15, 2016 . She is represented by Doris Fenske .
