The thermal power station Schwerin-Lankow is one of the energy supply Schwerin (EVS), a member company of the Stadtwerke Schwerin (SWS), powered cogeneration plant in Schwerin district Lankow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern .

technology

It is one of two natural gas-fired gas and steam combined cycle power plants that were built by December 1994 and that work in the cogeneration process and thus both provide heat for the Schwerin district heating network and produce electrical energy.

The main components of the plant are a gas turbine with an output of 15.7 MW, a waste heat boiler (45 t / h) with additional firing and an 8.4 MW counter-pressure steam engine. The thermal power station provides an electrical output of 24.1 MW and a district heating output of 31.6 MW. Optionally, if the gas supply is interrupted, firing with EL heating oil is possible.

Both Schwerin thermal power stations are connected by a ten-kilometer long district heating pipe. In times of low heating load, heat and electricity will continue to be produced in Lankow, while in Schwerin-Süd the main electricity production will be switched to condensation operation.

The grid connection takes place at the 20 kV medium voltage level in the power grid of the distribution network operator Netzgesellschaft Schwerin .

history

At the time of the turnaround around 1990, Schwerin's power supply came exclusively from national networks. In addition to the renovation of the existing Schwerin-Süd heating plant , the decision was made to build a new building in Lankow. The order was placed in December 1992 and construction began in December 1993. Another year later, in December 1994, construction was completed.
