The Ulm-Söflingen combined heat and power plant on Magirusstraße in Ulm is a combined heat and power plant with five high-pressure steam boilers with a thermal output of 294  MW and an installed electrical output of 27 MW. The boilers are lightly fired with coal , natural gas or alternatively heating oil. The large chimney of the facility was built in 1977 and is the fourth tallest structure in Ulm with a height of 112 m. It is also used as a radio tower.

There is also a waste incineration plant at the site with 58 MW thermal and 9.6 MW electrical output. The chimney has a height of 70 m.
