At its core a late medieval-early modern building fabric, in the 18th – 20th centuries. In the 19th century, the facility was changed to include a trapezoidal courtyard. In May 2020 the building was in full fire.

The Semmering Railway was opened in 1854 and is the oldest standard-gauge mountain railway in Europe. It was planned by Carl Ritter von Ghega . From the train station Gloggnitz to station Mürzzuschlag it 41 kilometers.

Originally built in the first half of the 13th century, the choir was built around 1300 and the south nave was built in 1344. In the first quarter of the 16th century, the nave center nave was vaulted, a sacristy was built in 1536 and the north nave was built in the fourth quarter of the 16th century, the presbytery of which was in the core Gothic charnel house, around 1725/35 partially Baroque under Pastor Leopold Sommerer, in the core Romanesque Nave with retracted early Gothic choir and early modern additions, church courtyard wall in the core late medieval and early modern, largely renewed.

A two-storey wide pillar with cornice and a hipped roof, marked Laurentius Schott 1625, a passage broken out in 1868 and a lower chapel with a wooden lattice skylight door added, Madonna and mercy seat renewed during renovation in 1962.
