The Schneeberg Venetian Gate is one of the oldest still largely original board saws in Austria. Formerly, a technical innovation was taken up in major changes that Leonardo da Vinci had triggered with the construction of the prototype of a sawmill.

The small complex with a late Romanesque keep and a four-sided Gothic ring wall was built in the first quarter of the 13th century; Renewals took place at the beginning of the 14th century. At the end of the 16th century the castle began to deteriorate; in the second half of the 19th century was Palas removed. The keep made of ashlar masonry, sections of the curtain wall with a walled-up castle gate from the beginning of the 14th century and a round-arched entrance portal with beveled stone walls from the first half of the 16th century to the northwest of the keep are still present.
