Helen Blake

Helen Blake (born May 1, 1951 in Saint Elizabeth Parish ) is a former Jamaican sprinter and middle distance runner .

In 1975 she won the Central America and Caribbean Championships over 400 m and 800 m . At the Pan American Games in Mexico City , she finished fourth with her personal best of 52.43 s.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she was eliminated over 400 m and in the 4-by-400-meter relay in the preliminary run.

In 1977 she won silver over 400 m and 800 m at the Central America and Caribbean Championships. At the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf , she was fifth with the American team in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

In 1978 she won bronze over 400 m at the Central America and Caribbean Games . At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton she was seventh over 400 m and sixth with the Jamaican 4-by-400-meter relay; She failed over 800 m in the lead.

At the Pan American Games in San Juan in 1979 , she was sixth over 400 m.

In 1977 she was named Jamaican Sportswoman of the Year .
