Helen Sjöholm
Marie Helen Sjöholm (born July 10, 1970 in Sundsvall ) is a Swedish singer and actress .
Life and professional career
Sjöholm was best known as the musical singer in Kristina från Duvemåla and the Swedish version of Chess . She also worked on the three albums of the Benny Anderssons Orkester (BAO) group by ex- ABBA member Benny Andersson . She also performed live with this group. In 2002, in collaboration with Georg Wadenius and Martin Östergren, she released her first, extremely successful solo record Visor , on which she interprets Swedish folk songs. The result of her collaboration with the Swedish jazz pianist Anders Widmark , the CD Genom varje andetag , released in October 2003, is also very remarkable .
In 2004 she played the role of Gabriella in the film Wie im Himmel ( Så som i Himmelen ) and sang the main song Gabriellas sång . In the 2005/2006 season she appeared on the stage of the Stadsteater Stockholm in the role of Polly Peachum in the Threepenny Opera . Since September 2008 she has been on stage as "Eliza Doolittle" in the musical My fair Lady at the Oscar Theater in Stockholm.
Helen Sjöholm is married to sound engineer David Granditsky.
Awards and honors
In 2018 Sjöholm was honored with the Swedish royal medal Litteris et Artibus .
