Helen Springs , also called Helen Springs Station , is a cattle ranch in the Northern Territory , Australia . It has an area of ​​10,198 square kilometers for up to 55,000 cattle, making it the sixteenth largest in Australia.

The farm is on the Stuart Highway between Elliott and Tennant Creek .

history

The farm was established in 1885 near the Trans-Australian Telegraph Line.

In 1928, during the rainy season, there was severe flooding in the farm area, which washed away several fences and trees.

In 1944 the farm was bought by the Vestey Group , an English holding of food companies. Since 2004 the farm has belonged to the company S. Kidman and Co , which has the largest land ownership in Australia with 124,000 square kilometers and belongs to the Cattle King Sidney Kidman .
